Hair loss is a common, yet often embarrassing issue that affects both men and women. Male and female pattern hair loss can be caused by a multitude of factors, and may affect confidence and performance in daily life. There are many treatment options available, but most are costly and do not provide optimal results. Topical and prescription treatments alone are often marginally effective, while surgical hair restoration is expensive and does not address underlying medical issues. At HealthBridge, our hair restoration program identifies these factors and treats them with a combination of the most cutting edge technology available today.
Our advanced treatment plan combines the power of platelet rich plasma (PRP), high intensity laser light therapy, specifically formulated topical therapies, and advanced nutritional supplements to help repair and jump start growth of hair follicles. Because PRP is a purified derivative of your own blood, the procedure is safe, clean and sterile. Side effects are rare and minimal, and there is no significant recovery time.
To begin PRP therapy for hair loss, a sample of the patient’s blood is taken. Then the patient’s blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate into distinct layers, one of which is platelet rich plasma. The PRP will then be injected into the target areas of the scalp to promote hair regrowth.
Minimal downtime is required for PRP therapy, with some patients experiencing redness and soreness in the scalp for 24 hours. During this recovery period it is advised to avoid saunas, swimming, and strenuous exercise.
Results are generally visible at about 6 weeks and continue to improve gradually over ensuing months (3-6) with improvement in texture and tone. For purposes of hair restoration, it is recommended that patients have a series of at least three treatments, if using PRP alone.
Every patient has their own unique medical profile. So to ensure safety and efficacy, your doctor will conduct a thorough history & physical, as well as a detailed blood analysis and hormone profile during your initial consultation. Using these findings, a personalized treatment plan will be developed to help you achieve optimal results.
